What makes summer camp even more fun for kids? Of course, it’s plenty of time for swimming. One of the unique aspects of Hofstra Summer Camps (excluding Sports Academy Camps) is that it includes an American Red Cross instructional swim program with plenty of fun time in the water.
Because camps take place on the picturesque Hofstra University campus, campers gain access to the school’s 50-meter, Olympic-sized indoor pool. It’s fun and learning with the instructional swim program. Campers are evaluated on the first day of each session and placed in the appropriate swim level group. New skills and safety techniques are taught at each level to further campers’ confidence in the water. At the end of camp, every camper receives an American Red Cross swim level card.
Make Friends, Have Fun!
Kids return to Hofstra Summer Camp year after year because of the incredible range of camps and programs, the fun instructional swim program and to make friends with fellow campers with similar interests. Friendships often start at Hofstra Summer Camp and continue for years to come because of the memories made enjoying activities in and out of the pool.
Learn New Skills
Many campers arrive at Hofstra Summer Camp for the first time with no experience in the water. Through the instructional swim program, they learn the valuable swim skills they need to help them stay safe in the water. Each day, certified instructors help campers learn strokes, breathing techniques and safety tips that will build confidence and promote a love of swimming.
Campers can choose from a number of unforgettable Specialty Camps and Learning Institute Camps that include instructional swimming as part of their camp day!
