New Ducks pitcher offers tips and advice to New York Baseball Academy campers during Session 2.
The Ducks acquired Tyler Badamo on June 29. A former player for Dowling College (16-7 with a 1.60 ERA and 224 strikeouts in two seasons), he had 129 strikeouts, breaking the school’s record in 2014. Badamo was then drafted by the Mets. He played three season with them–in rookie ball or Class A. Last season, the Arizona Diamondbacks bought his contract and he pitched three of their games.
He is coming to Hofstra on July 17 and 19. Badamo will speak to Session 2 campers who will have an opportunity to ask the ball player questions.“The expert teaching of baseball at the NYBA is second to none and the guest speakers add to the important instructional value,” said Terry Ryan, Hofstra Summer Camps directors. Badamo will pitch for the Ducks on Wednesday in between speaking sessions.
