Ducks Pitcher Tyler Badamo Speaks at New York Baseball Academy (NYBA)

New Ducks pitcher offers tips and advice to New York Baseball Academy campers during Session 2. The Ducks acquired Tyler Badamo on June 29. A former player for Dowling College (16-7 with a 1.60 ERA and 224 strikeouts in two seasons), he had 129 strikeouts, breaking the school’s record in 2014. Badamo was then drafted by the Mets. He played three season with them–in rookie ball or Class A. Last season, the Arizona Diamondbacks bought his contract and he pitched three of their games. He is coming to Hofstra on July 17 and 19. Introducing  a new addition to New York Baseball Academy — a former major league baseball player His Career New York Baseball Academy Instructor Reid Gorecki started playing baseball at age 5. His father, who was a baseball coach, and his brother would play Wiffle ball in his backyard and that is when his love of baseball began. He credits his success to his father and brother, who gave him advice and instruction when he was young. If anyone knows how to choose a baseball camp, it’s Bob Hirschfield, founder and director of the New York Baseball Academy (NYBA), now in its 41st year and ranked by Baseball America as one of the top five baseball programs in the county.
